to the server was successful. In simple terms, it means that the web page you were trying to access has been found and loaded correctly.

So, why is it called an error code if it represents a successful request? Well, the term “error” here can be a bit misleading. In the context of HTTP status codes, an error simply refers to any response that is not in the 2XX range. These codes are used to provide information about the status of a request and are categorized into different ranges, each with its own meaning.

The 2XX range, which includes the HTTP 200 error, signifies a successful request. It indicates that the server has received, understood, and processed the request, and is now returning the requested content to your browser. Essentially, it tells you that everything is working as expected and there were no issues in retrieving the web page.

However, it’s important to note that even though the request was successful, it doesn’t guarantee that the content of the web page itself is error-free. The HTTP 200 status code only confirms that the server was able to locate and deliver the requested page without any problems.

On the other hand, if you encounter an error code outside the 2XX range, such as the famous 404 “Page Not Found” error, it means that the server was unable to locate the requested page. This could happen due to various reasons, such as a mistyped URL or a broken link.
